I graduated with my Masters degree in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2008 after completing my BSc Kinesiology degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2006. In 2017 I returned to school to complete a second Masters in Clinical Science Physical Therapy (Manipulative Therapy) degree from Western University. This additional training allowed be to become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT).
I have completed additional training in:
• Running related injuries and injury prevention
• Concussion Rehabilitation
• Vestibular Rehabilitation
• McKenzie Method for the treatment of low back pain • Running injuries and prevention
• Exercise prescription
• Soft tissue based treatment approaches.
• Acupuncture: certified through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada
Institute.
I am passionate about working with motivated individuals, of all ages, who want to improve their physical well-being or prevent injury. I believe education and self management techniques are important components in a treatment plan. I strive to help people stay active in their activities and sports by using evidence informed manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription and modalities to help them return to the activities they love.
I love to hike, run, play Ultimate Frisbee, ski, read and hang out with my two young, energetic children. I enjoy mentoring other physiotherapists who have chosen to pursue their advanced manual therapy training.
